For almost two decades, Michael Gillen has helped families find resolutions to their conflicts in family court.  He has achieved a BV® Distinguished™ rating from his peers through Martindale-Hubbell, indicating his work is widely respected by other attorneys and members of the bar.  Gillen has been an active member of the York County Bar Association since 1993 and served as president in 2008.

Michael Gillen was raised with a healthy appreciation for hard work and family values.  He helped put himself through college by working as a tile and stone mason.  He completed his undergraduate studies at University of South Carolina and went on to graduate from law school there in 1991.

Gillen spent two years as an assistant prosecutor with the Sixteenth Circuit Solicitor’s office before moving into private practice.  After two years as an associate attorney, he opened his own law firm in 1996.
